Parley for the Oceans collaborates with Jenny Holzer
Parley for the Oceans has unveiled a new surfboard collection with American conceptual and installation artist Jenny Holzer.
The collection aims to unite the worlds of art and surfing, while encouraging eco-innovation to protect our oceans. It includes 10 PalladiumThe Renaissance: Studies in Art and Poetry, on the earnest pursuit of the aesthetics of life. Meanwhile, each board of the edition is gilded by hand and signed on the verso, in a nod to the Silver Surfer.
The collaboration is part of the Parley Art Program and follows successful collaborations with a slew of creators, thinkers and leaders from creative industries. Previously, it collaborated with Sri Lanka born, UK-based artist Maya Arulpragasam, who performs as M.I.A, on a luxury eyewear collection created from marine plastic debris and reclaimed fishing nets.
Most recently, Parley for the Oceans also unveiled a beachwear collection by Dior
As part of its collaboration with Jenny Holzer, proceeds will go to the Parley Air Station, an educational hub located in the Maldives, as well as towards a waste collection concept, Gaaf Alif atoll.
