Etudes Studio steps into cinema
The Gaîté Lyrique arts center in Paris found itself packed this last Tuesday, January 18, as it welcomed the trio behind Etudes
The film presented on the large screens of the arts center lenses the urban youth of the district of La Défense while celebrating its periphery and landscapes. The urban panorama is contrasted by the nature-filled and mountainous terrain of Vercors, the region the brand founders call home. The film follows three teenagers, representing the creative trio, on their journey to explore new and exciting places against magical scenic backdrops.
“This film represents us,” explained Arbet, deeply moved by the film’s screening. “It was a long-term, ambitious project that we managed to carry out during the Covid pandemic crisis that challenged us to explore a new creative medium: cinema. ‘Twenty’ is a real work of introspection, a nod to our 20 collections and a tribute to our inspirations, references, and our roots: the city and the mountains, spaces in which we grew up.”
Conceived as a ‘balance sheet’ concluding ten years of work, the ten-minute film discreetly highlights the fashion of Etudes. “As to sign off the completion of this first chapter, our work consisted of looking back into our archives, fine-tuning and reinterpreting our iconic pieces in order to present our purest and most graphic silhouettes,” said Arbet. “This presentation is a continuation of our last collection released in July 2021, which already revisited the key products in our past collections.”
