As long as Barbiecore remains a red-carpet trend, Kacey Musgraves will be here to show everyone how it’s done, as she did at the 2023 Grammys. The “Golden Hour” singer arrived on the red carpet in a skintight bubblegum pink body suit with matching pumps under a floor-length feathered cape. She wore her hair pulled back in a low-key updo with her dark brown curtain bangs framing her face.
The singer kept her jewelry simple with minimal diamond stud earrings and a simple cocktail ring. But who needs jewelry when you have literally draped yourself in this much bright pink glam?
The pop-country artist is a six-time Grammy winner herself, but she was at the 65th annual Grammys to perform a tribute to the late Loretta Lynn, who died in 2022. According to , Musgraves is playing Lynn’s “Coal Miner’s Daughter” on a guitar once owned by the iconic Lynn herself. Back in 2014, she and Lynn performed the song “You’re Lookin’ at Country” together at the Country Music Awards.
Musgraves isn’t nominated this time, but 2022 was still a big year for her, having been named one of Time‘s 12 Women of the Year and performing at the annual gala. “I have been told no a lot in terms of something that I would want to take a creative risk on,” she told the outlet (via Yahoo!). “I decided I’d rather go down in flames for something I really believe in than present a watered-down version of myself that may make me more money. You have to fight that until you can get to a place where you can have total creative freedom, and I’m getting there.”
