Leave it to Emily Ratajkowski to redefine fall fashion.
Miranda Priestly, the fierce fictional editor from The Devil Wears Prada, famously made it clear that wearing florals in spring is not groundbreaking. Wearing leaves in autumn, however, actually might be? Sure, there’s nothing new about adopting earthy tones as the leaves start to turn, but Ratajkowski has taken fall fashion one step further by wearing brown separates with a foliage print.
The model and recent divorcée attended the US Open women’s singles quarter-final match wearing slinky mesh separates from London-based brand KNWLS: a long-sleeve top and the cult Halcyon leggings printed with a leaf pattern. EmRata styled her separates with a smart black shoulder bag and pointy boots.
Emily Ratajkowski is the latest in a long line of stars to fall for KNWLS’s sexy designs. Kaia Gerber wore the checked Halcyon leggings for her 21st birthday on September 3, Dua Lipa is a fan of the spiky Razr bag, Hailey Bieber has been seen wearing the brand’s flippy skirt, and Rihanna wore a cat-print minidress when she was pregnant.
The duo behind KNWLS, Charlotte Knowles and her partner Alexandre Arsenault, are back on schedule for London Fashion Week after a hiatus for autumn-winter 2022. As alumni of Lulu Kennedy’s trailblazing initiative Fashion East, they were recently awarded the XLNC grant—a new program that Kennedy and Fashion East’s head of projects, Raphaelle Moore, launched in collaboration with Ugg—which will support KNWLS’s ongoing projects and the spring-summer 2023 showcase.
