Dressed in head-to-toe Dior for the French fashion house’s show on March 1, the Grown-ish star stepped out in a classic outfit with contemporary touches: a short khaki cape and matching pleated miniskirt, black bike shorts, and calf-length buckle boots. The earthy color palette was the perfect backdrop for her two bags to shine—and remind us all that tiny-bag trend is here to stay.
Tiny bags and their nano counterparts first appeared on runways a few years ago, shrinking as rapidly as their fame grew. The trend peaked in 2019 with the release of Jacquemus’s Le Petit Chiquito, which one critic at the time called “elegant, tiny, and absolutely useless.” The writer had a point—tiny bags aren’t exactly ideal for carrying essentials, let alone pandemic necessities like face masks, vaccine card holders, or hand sanitizer. But that hasn’t stopped designers from spinning off the accessory into even more diminutive sizes through add-on coin pouches and handbag-shaped key chains just waiting to be linked onto the handle of your actual purse.
