Russia, Ukraine Fail to Agree on Cease-Fire, Humanitarian Corridors

MOSCOW, March 3 (Reuters) – Russia and Ukraine failed to agree on a cease-fire or the creation of humanitarian corridors to evacuate civilians from besieged cities on Thursday, raising doubts about whether nascent talks between the two sides can halt the month-old war.

Russia’s chief negotiator Vladimir Medinsky told reporters after several hours of talks with his Ukrainian counterpart that Kyiv had failed to respond to proposals for a truce and evacuation corridors during the third round of face-to-face negotiations in Belarus.
