VF Corporation, the parent company of brands such as Vans, The North Face, and Timberland, has announced the appointment of Karen Giberson as its new Chief People Officer. Giberson will be responsible for leading VF’s global human resources strategy, including talent acquisition, development, and retention, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Giberson joins VF from Gap Inc., where she served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources. During her tenure at Gap, she was responsible for developing and implementing the company’s HR strategy, including its talent management, leadership development, and employee engagement programs. Prior to Gap, Giberson held leadership roles at Williams-Sonoma, Inc. and The Walt Disney Company. Giberson holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources and Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. .
