Nic+Zoe names new CEO; enters activewear, denim categories
U.S. fashion brand Nic+Zoe announced on Thursday the promotion of current president Avra Myers to the role CEO, in addition to the launch of new denim and activewear collections, respectively.
Myers joined the Boston-based company as chief merchant in 2019 before assuming the role of president in 2021. She has overseen a surge in the core brand’s growth and the launch of three new collections: NZT, NZ Active
With 30 years of retail experience, Myers also co-founded clothing brand, Club Monaco
Coinciding with Myers’ promotion, Taal Rachamimov has been promoted to executive vice president of sales. The move assures new levels of integration between core channels of the company’s business: wholesale and direct-to-consumer, said the company in a press release.
In a separate press release on Thursday, Nic+Zoe announced plans to expand its offerings by launching two new collections: a denim line and an activewear line. The new ventures will be known as NZ Denim and NZ Active, respectively.
“This collection is about more than working up a sweat. We like to think of NZ Active as ‘Lifewear,’” said creative director Zoë Chatfield-Taylor, in describing the new NZ Active range. The collection also includes elegant outer layers, jackets, and even a poncho—each designed to go with the workout-ready styles underneath.
Meanwhile, NZ Denim combines expertise in yarn spinning techniques with classic denim construction to create jeans with just the right amount of stretch and a soft texture, said the brand
The launch comes off the back of the launch of the brand’s T-shirt line NZT in 2022.
Founded in 2006 by knitwear designer Dorian Lightbown, Nic+Zoe is today stocked in retailers such as NordstromBloomingdale’s, and Stitch Fix
