Kim Kardashian is back in bodycon minis. After several months of favoring loose-fitting track pants and jeans (as part of her ongoing affinity for Balenciaga), she seems to be changing things up in Milan for fashion week.
The Skims founder recently wore a familiar, dare we say nostalgic, ’fit while out and about in Milan today: a white bodycon dress. She completed the look with a Marilyn Monroe–esque blonde coif and a fuzzy coat worn half-on. It’s half JFK’s birthday party, half clubbing with Paris Hilton in 2007.
The look comes courtesy of Dolce & Gabbana, a brand with a well-documented problematic history who also featured Kardashian on invitations for their spring 23 show. The dress matches up to the rising ’60s nostalgia permeating pop culture right now, as the Olivia Wilde suburbia drama Don’t Worry Darling hits theaters and Blonde, a new Marilyn Monroe biopic, releases soon.
Kardashian is a noted fan of the era. For the 2022 Met Gala, she paid homage to Marilyn Monroe by donning a Bob Mackie dress previously worn by the late starlet. Coincidentally, Kardashian also wore a white coat half-on for the occasion.
It’ll be interesting to see if Kim Kardashian pushes her Marilyn Monroe fandom any further. Perhaps a limited-edition, Marilyn-tribute Skims collection?
