When in doubt, or even when you’re not in doubt, belt it. That’s what we were all thinking in the 2000s, and that’s what Kate Hudson is thinking in 2023, apparently. The Glass Onion kicked off the new year in a pink belted gown with many elements.
On January 6, the early-2000s rom-com queen wore a pink dress to Variety‘s Directors to Watch Brunch at Parker Palm Springs. The Huishan Zhang number has a Grecian-inspired silhouette with a deep V, but that’s not all. There are ruffles. There are pleats. There is a neck scarf. There is a cape. And then there’s the belt, which serves no other purpose than pure decoration. It doesn’t get any more 2007 than that.
Hudson continued to honor the Palm Springs aesthetic with minimal makeup, very glowy skin, and a shiny pink lip to match the dress. She wore her hair up in a laid-back look, letting pieces hang down to frame her face. She wore silver earrings and added some edge to the feminine outfit with a pair of pointed-toe black heels.
The actor, who appears in Glass Onion alongside former How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days costar Kathryn Hahn, recently opened up about the pair’s mini reunion nearly 20 years after working together on the classic rom-com.
“It turned into years where we hadn’t seen each other, and when I saw her, when I was reunited with [Kathryn] on [Glass Onion], it was like we’d never left,” Hudson said in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I feel like we are soul sisters. It’s the best.” It’s 2003 all over again and I’m okay with it!
