Levi’s collaborates with Beams for spring/summer 2022
Levi’s has teamed up with Japanese brand Beams for a spring/summer 2022 collection.
The two iconic denim brands are a natural match. While Beams has a long history of taking classic Americana and reimagining it through a Japanese lens, Levi’s has long been associated with its classic American style.
True to the collaborative brands specialties, each piece in the collection takes a classic Levi’s silhouette and stretches it out into a “Super Wide” version.
The collection features a lineup of jeans, Truckers, and a pocket tee. The Trucker is a riff on the Levi’s Type I Trucker, the jeans are a “Super Wide”, baggy version of a classic button fly straight leg, and the tee is a reiteration of the vintage style Levi’s pocket tee.
Beyond the fit, all collection elements have been updated to be “Super Wide”, including the pockets and the button fly on the jeans, the pocket on the tee, and the single pocket on the Trucker. Even the hang tags for the collection are a stretched out, co-branded version of the traditional Levi’s hang tag.
Meanwhile, other co-branded elements include a special Levi’s Red Tab, in Levi’s traditional red and the Beams brand orange, and a special selvedge with Beams orange stitching—instead of red—on selvedge seams of the jeans and the Trucker.
As part of the launch, a vintage-inspired faded wash version of the Trucker and the jeans along with the pocket tee will be available through both the Levi’s app and Beams website, while a dark indigo rinse version of the Trucker and the jeans will be available exclusively through Beams.
