Seems like just yesterday we were watching Selena Gomez star as the sassiest witch on Wavery Place—and now she’s turning 30. They really do grow up so fast….
The Only Murders in the Building star celebrated the big 3-0 with a lavish party with a black-tie dress code (very adult, very 30s). Gomez posted a photo of the event to Instagram on Monday, July 25, in which she descends a floating staircase in a pale pink Versace gown made of a sheer chiffon. The dress is ruched at the bodice and drapes elegantly over her collarbones, and the train includes delicate cascading beading, adding a twinkle to the photo opp.
She styled the look with embellished hoop earrings and subtle heeled sandals, and wore her hair in a slick ponytail with a flip at the ends à la ’60s starlets. (We know she has a certain affinity for the ’60s…)

In the photo, Gomez is trailed by a little girl dressed in white, and they both hold their trains as they make their way down the staircase lined with roses.
From the looks of it, the actor waited a few days before sharing all the details from her birthday bash, which likely took place on her actual birthday, July 22. She also shared a black-and-white portrait from the occasion, which she captioned with a lengthy message to fans.

“Though there are so many words to say I’ll simply leave it at this,” she writes. “My twenties were a journey through good, hard and beautiful moments that I will never forget. Each of them has shaped me into the person that I am today. I am someone who is still learning, but is more certain about what matters and what she wants. Someone who is grateful for every single gift and every single lesson along the way.”
She also thanks the “empowering” people in her life, adding, “I want to try my best to take the beautiful and the painful one day at a time and let it all make me into the very best me that I can be for myself/others/you.”
Connar Franklin, one of Selena’s friends, also posted portraits from the event in which the actor appears to have changed into a feather-trimmed sequin dress from 16Arlington’s bridal collection.
A few days before that, Gomez posted a photo of herself and longtime bestie Taylor Swift, because there’s no such thing as too much celebrating.

Happy birthday, Selena. Looks like it was as magical as Alex Russo’s powers.
