There are few who can touch Lizzo in terms of making an unforgettable red-carpet entrance, and her appearance at the 2023 Grammy Awards is no exception. The “About Damn Time” singer wore a cherry red hooded cape covered in rosettes atop a striped tangerine bustier gown with long sheer sleeves—both of which were designed by Dolce & Gabbana. Two glittering, oversized rings graced the singer’s fingers as well as an artful orange manicure with sculpted rosettes on every tip. An additional rosette was tucked into her hair for good measure.
Just ahead of the Grammys, the pop star hard-launched her boyfriend, Myke Wright, with a glamorous red-carpet debut. Lizzo subsequently shared the images on Instagram and tagged Wright in them, marking the first time she has confirmed the relationship on social media.
Lizzo is no stranger to the Grammys. The singer-songwriter-rapper-flautist-goddess has already amassed 13 Grammy nominations and three wins. This year “About Damn Time” was nominated for record of the year, song of the year, and best pop solo performance. Her album Special, meanwhile, was nominated for album of the year as well as best pop vocal album.
Anyone who watched her HBO documentary, Love, Lizzo, knows how hard the artist worked on Special, so a few Grammy noms is no less than she deserves. “I feel like I’ve been on a first date with the world for like three years,” Lizzo told Glamour in a November 2022 interview. “I’m good at everything. I’m beautiful, I’m talented, and I’m funny. It’s like, you can’t really comprehend that until you see it on camera or in person, so I’m excited for everybody to get the opportunity to just get it, you know, so we can just move forward.”
