The Athlete’s Foot reveals marketing appointments
Specialty footwear retailer The Athlete’s Foot (TAF) announced on Tuesday the expansion of its marketing team and promotion of two key executives.
The Atlanta, Georgia-based company said it has appointed Darius Billings to the role of VP of marketing: community engagement and StAART, and appointed Cassidy Dansberry to marketing manager, effective immediately.
Billings, a footwear industry veteran who has been with TAF for 15 years, will continue to report to Matthew Lafone, president, and GM of Americas. In the new role, Billings will lead all U.S. brand and community engagement efforts along with the StAART program (The Strategic African American Retail Track).
Likewise Dansberry, who will continue to report to Billings was partner success manager and consultant for digital marketing company Sapper Consulting prior to her role at TAF.
”The Athlete’s Foot is proud to announce the much-deserved promotions of veteran team member Darius Billings and Cassidy Dansberry,” said Lafone.
“They were both instrumental during the past year in driving consumer connectivity and leading TAF’s community-based grassroots initiatives. We are excited to build on the momentum from 2022 and are moving full speed ahead with several game-changing programs and concepts for 2023.”
In addition to the two new appointments, TAF said it has also added two new positions to the marketing team, including a social media coordinator and marketing coordinator.
Most recently, TAF’s parent Arklyz Group announced the acquisition of retailers Shoe City and YCMC, in May last year.
