Irina Shayk Goes Pants-Free for Morning Drop-Off

For cool city moms like Irina Shayk, getting your kid to school in the morning has nothing to do with a big yellow bus and everything to do with finding the perfect look. No, really, morning drop-off fashion is a thing.

Add to this the fact that New York is currently transitioning from hot to cold, and you’ve got yourself quite a task. But Shayk, being a fashion professional, found an innovative and on-trend solution: leather Tabi boots, a cozy sweater over a crisp white shirt, and no pants!

You may have missed it, but we aren’t doing pants anymore. Blair Waldorf once said “Tights are not pants,” but even she knew the times change, as demonstrated by Kylie Jenner and Rihanna. Emily Ratajkowski recently skipped legwear altogether. Shayk herself went sans trousers twice in a single photo dump. Ever since March, pants have slowly been disappearing from the legs of celebs: the no-pants trend is perhaps the next sheer dress! As Glamour’s Hanna Lustig wrote in her analysis of the style, “The no-pants trend is smug, impractical fashion at its finest. But it’s also a delicious opportunity to set your trousers aside for a season or two and explore the outer limits of acceptability.” That’s definitely the Irina Shayk way!

Meanwhile, fellow model Gigi Hadid is supposedly dating Shayk’s ex, Bradley Cooper. We wouldn’t have immediately put the two together, but given that Hadid is a devoted mom, there probably aren’t that many guys in her age bracket she can relate to. Cooper might be someone with a similar frame of reference, and he’s spent enough time with Shayk to understand the demands of modeling too. Now, as for who wears the pants in that rumored relationship…maybe no one?
