Lady Gaga wore an off-the-runway Versace gown to the 2023 Oscars. Like, fresh off the runway. Like, Gigi Hadid just wore this dress three days ago during a special fashion show in Los Angeles, off the runway.
The singer paired the stunning black gown, which features peekaboo hourglass boning under the sheer long-sleeve top, with a slick French braid and a heavy smoky eye. To add a pop of color, Gaga finished the look with a fiery ginger lip.
The Versace gown is beautiful from the front, but you really have to see the back. The low-rise belted satin skirt dips below the hips on the reverse of the dress, almost dangerously so. (Almost.)
While the gown was styled with a brilliant bauble choker on the runway, Gaga opted for a stunning diamond necklace to add a bit of sparkle. She kept the rest of her jewelry simple, wearing small diamond earrings, a tennis bracelet, and a matching ring.
Hadid was one of several supermodels at Versace’s LA show on Thursday, March 9. She was joined on the runway by Naomi Campbell, Emily Ratajkowski, and Kendall Jenner. There were also several celebrities in attendance in the front row, from Anne Hathaway to Cher, but Gaga, being Gaga, was the first to get her paws on the collection.
After it was first announced that she was not performing at the Oscars, it’s now being reported that Gaga, who is nominated for best original song for “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick, will be performing on stage tonight. TBD on whether that pans out—and, more importantly, what she’ll be wearing. But it’s safe to say the designer is still probably working on it. Only the freshest threads for Mother Monster.
