Timothée Chalamet has clearly taken note that skin is in this year. The actor, who attended the Academy Awards for the first time in 2018 when he was nominated for best actor for his work in Call Me By Your Name, returned to the Oscars 2022 red carpet in what could be considered the male equivalent of the sheer dress and corset trend.
On March 27, Chalamet arrived at Hollywood’s biggest night in custom Louis Vuitton. He went shirtless underneath the open suit jacket, which was embellished with sequins and lace. He kept his hair playfully undone and styled the look with silver rings and necklaces.
Chalamet is one of a few Hollywood men who make red carpet fashion a priority—so much so that he served as a co-host of the 2021 Met Gala. For his first Oscars, Chalamet kept things pretty tame with an all-white tuxedo and bowtie by Berluti but went a more playful route in 2020.
At the 2020 Academy Awards, Chalamet nixed the tuxedo look in what can best be described as a tailored tracksuit by Prada. While the look itself definitely feels more casual, the Little Woman star opted to slick back his hair for the occasion.
We’ve gotta say that this year’s look has to be our favorite of the actor’s Oscars ensembles, especially as it reminds us of our all-time favorite Timothée Chalamet fashion moment from the 2019 Golden Globes. Perhaps it’s because the sequins harness ensemble was also custom Louis Vuitton.
Of course, just because Timothée Chalamet brought his A-game to the 2022 Academy Awards red carpet, he wasn’t the only man who caught our eye. Chalamet’s Dune costar Jason Momoa, for one, hit the carpet with his hair pulled back in a French braid. For more fashion moments from this year’s red carpet, click here.
